Annual Monitoring Risk-Based Monitoring

Funds under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) are provided to school districts on an entitlement basis for programs and services to children with disabilities. Funds may be used for staffing, educational materials, equipment, and other costs to provide special education and related services, as well as supplementary aids and services, to children with disabilities. The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) provides additional funds under the IDEA to be used through September 30, 2011.

A statewide conference focusing on Special Education and Title I funding will be held on February 27 and 28 in Wisconsin Dells. The focus of the conference is delivering the same federal funding message to program and business office staff with the purpose of providing districts with the tools to rearrange existing revenue sources to close gaps and fund new initiatives.

The conference is presented by WASBO, WCASS and DPI.
