Free Materials...for Wisconsin Child Care Providers

 

This is a list of free resources about child care that can be ordered at any time from the Wisconsin Child Care Information Center (CCIC).

You may print Your Guide to Regulated Child Care: Your Summary of the Child Care Rules from the Child Care Forms & Publication website. To order small quantities, click the button to the left titled Brochures for Parents: Selecting and Evaluating Child Care.

The Department of Children and Families and the Regional Child Care Licensing Specialists want to provide the child care community with a standardized set of guidelines so that the information new providers receive will be consistent from region to region. These resources were developed by the Regional Child Care Licensing Specialists, Supporting Families Together Association (SFTA), Child Care Resource & Referral Agencies in Madison and Milwaukee, and other state agencies.

The materials in this section (consisting of sheets of information a few pages in length) are available to any Wisconsin child care provider or educator. Some resources relate specifically to family child care or to group center care, but most are of universal interest. A list of additional resources available from other state agencies can be found by clicking the Wisconsin Agencies button on the left navigation bar. All of the items listed on that page must be ordered from the specific state agency mentioned.

CCIC has a library of books, videos, CDs, audiocassettes, articles and brochures about child care and welcomes requests for information that require individual attention. Brochures for Parents on Selecting and Evaluating Child Care


All brochures are available in English and Spanish. Please indicate quantity needed for a 1-year supply.

  • This guide for parents summarizes the child care rules as they pertain to the caregiver, the place and the program. Licensed and certified child care providers are required to distribute this form to the parents of each child upon enrollment. Click on the title above to go directly to the form on the DCF website. From there you can print the form as needed. CCIC will fill orders for small quantities.

     

  • A brochure which gives pointers to parents on what to look for in choosing child care or evaluating the child care center or home they are already using, some of their responsibilities as parents and child care users, and how to contact resource & referral agencies, certifying agencies and licensing field offices.

     

  • The Wisconsin Shares Child Care Subsidy Project provides financial assistance to low-income parents on a sliding scale based primarily on income. Payments are made to child care providers chosen by the parent. This fact sheet explains how the program works. Click on the title above to go directly to the fact sheet on the DCF website. From there you can print copies as needed. CCIC will fill orders for small quantities.
