WHAT’S HAPPENING IN SEPTEMBER?

The ISES Discipline, Year End, 3rd Friday of September, and Child Count collections are now open.

FALL ROSTER FILES:

The WSAS / WKCE rosters will NOT be pulled for the fall.

ALTERNATE HOUSEHOLD INCOME FORM:

The Alternate Household Income Form is available on the DPI FNS Community Eligibility Provision webpage, https://dpi.wi.gov/school-nutrition/national-school-lunch-program/commun...(Updated 7/27/2015).  Remember that Economically Disadvantaged Status is required for every students for every school year, even those in a participating CEP school or district or Provision 2 district, https://dpi.wi.gov/wise/data-elements/econ-status.

WISEdash FOR DISTRICTS:

The DPI Data Warehouse and Decision Support team implemented the following enhancements:

Cohorts:  This feature allows users to create their own private sets of students or schools which become filters that can be applied to any WISEdash dashboard.  This is a powerful feature that enables easy tracking and reporting on very specific populations across time.  In addition, DPI is providing several school cohorts that subset schools based on school attributes for each school year.  The Cohort User Guide is available now for your review.

Forms Updates:  Enhancements to forms used for data retreats (click and save data images to save and add forms--link to categories to categorize your data and in future link to resources, strategies, etc after root cause analysis --continuous improvement processes).  The Forms User Guide is available now for your review.

As of September 15, 2015 the WINSS Data Analysis tool will no longer be available.  Please refer to WISEdash for Districts.

ATTENDANCE WORKS:

Both attendance and chronic absenteeism are measured on the report cards. Attendance Works has great resources like this toolkit that schools and districts can use for Attendance Awareness Month. It starts in September but planning starts now - spread the word! http://www.attendanceworks.org/tools/assessments/power-positive-connecti...

The Power of Positive Connections toolkit calls for using prior absenteeism records and from the first month of school to connect the most at-risk students to personal relationships and positive supports that motivate them to show up to class...
