  • Teacher’s Guide to BLS Career Information includes the Occupational Outlook Handbook and more.
  • Wisconsin Job Centers offers an array of services such as: career counseling, performance and aptitude tests, labor market information, job placement services, interviewing skills, and more. Services vary from office to office. This site lets you choose a specific Job Center location and its services.
  • Finding a Job In Wisconsin includes the Job Service job openings’ database; jobs in state service; and a nationwide resume service, career search and job openings.
  • Wisconsin Career Centers includes location and information about Wisconsin’s regional Career Centers, career development strategies and tips, other Internet resources and more.
  • Military Career Guide Online provides career information for the military world of work. It gives details on 152 enlisted and officer occupations. The closest civilian occupation counterpart is given for every military occupation. In addition, this site describes training, advancement, and educational opportunities within each of the major Services -- Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, and Coast Guard.
  • Wisconsin Technical College System has 16 technical colleges, with 46 campuses and numerous outreach centers. The colleges offer over 300 career education programs in business and marketing, health, trades and industry, agriculture and agribusiness, service occupations, technical fields, and wage-earning home economics.
  • University of Wisconsin System provides all information needed for considering a postsecondary school in the UW system.
  • School Bell.  This page is a link to many other sites that provide in-depth coverage of specific jobs and careers.  Students can link to other web sites based on their interest.
  • Livelyhood - Interactive Teacher Guide.  This website is a great resource for students wanting to connect career choices to family.  Here students map out the career paths of their parents and grandparents, and they explore the barriers and occupational hazards that once accompanied certain jobs.  There are many links to extend the learning.
  • BLS Career Information.  Produced for children, this website gives them ideas for careers based on their interests in subjects in school.  It also provides links for teachers and to the Bureau of Labor Statistics home page.
  • DOL- Career Guide to Industries.  The website is hosted by the Department of Labor, which provides a Career Guide to Industries.  The guide includes "the nature of the industry, working conditions, employment, occupations in the industry, training and advancement, earnings and benefits, employment outlook, and lists of organizations that can provide additional information.
  • Career & College Planning Resources (career planning, career activities and lesson plans) vocational information center with extensive links career planning resource.
