Young Children with Disabilities



Why Expand Service Options?

Early Intervention and special education programs and service providers are recognizing the importance in expanding the resources and service options available to the infants and toddlers with disabilities and their families. This desire is focused on providing opportunities for children with disabilities to participate in settings which children that do not have disabilities. It also emphasizes benefit when services are delivered in natural or least restrictive environments that utilize the settings and activities that are part of the family's usual routines. Federal and state laws reinforce the need for providing services these natural environments.
