Newspapers or magazines exist in many communities that are targeted at specific cultural and linguistically diverse groups. These newspapers and radios are not only a source of information but they can be an important source of information on activities and events occurring in the communities they serve. The Madison Times, and the Milwaukee Times are examples of newspapers that provide news and current events of particular interest to the African American communities in Madison and Milwaukee. Using a magazine format Interrace Magazine targets biracial families and UMJHO targets Madison's African American community. Hmong Radio is heard throughout the state by the Hmong community acting and is an important source of shared information and communication.
