Welcome to FCCLA!Family, Career and Community Leaders of America is a dynamic and effective national student organization that helps young men and women become leaders and address important personal, family, work and societal issues through family and consumer sciences education. The organization has nearly 230,000 members and 8,000 advisers from all 50 states plus the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands. Since its founding in 1945, Family, Career and Community Leaders of America has involved more than nine million youth. FCCLA is unique among student organizations because its programs are planned and run by members. It is the only national in-school organization with the family as its central focus. Participation in national programs and chapter activities helps members become strong leaders in their families, careers and communities. The Wisconsin Association of FCCLA had a membership of 2,167 in the 2006-2007 school year. As a national organization, membership is increasing by almost 5%. Wisconsin increased its membership by 1 chapter last year, so the hope is that this is a sign and Wisconsin will follow the national trend. One of the goals of the Executive Council is to make visits to schools that do not have chapters as well as those who do, to encourage increases in membership within existing chapters, and encourage the formation of new chapters. National FCCLA Week 2008 is Feb. 10 - 16: Celebrate using the ideas found here! For the latest information on Wisconsin FCCLA, please read the December 2007 State Adviser bulletin.
