Materials and Resources for the CACFP
- "And Justice for All" poster is available to download from the USDA website for temporary use. To order posters for permanent use contact Barb Douglas at 608-267-9129.
- Building Blocks for Fun and Healthy Meals--A Menu Planner for the Child and Adult Care Food Program--USDA, Team Nutrition recently released this new menu planner, which is a companion piece to the Child Care Recipes: Food for Health and Fun distributed in early 2000. The new menu planner includes a wealth of practical information: Planning to Meet Children's Food Needs, Child and Adult Care Food Program Meal Patterns, Tools for Planning Quality Meals, Menu Planning Records, Nutrition Education for Children, Keeping Children Safe; and Dietary Guidelines for Americans.
- Building for the Future Flier
Parental Notification Flier
- Building for the Future Poster
The intent of the poster is to inform families that the facility is a participant in the CACFP, and to raise the visibility of the CACFP with the public. The regional office of the USDA has now decided that facilities (centers and homes) participating in the CACFP are not required to display this poster. The USDA does however strongly recommend that the poster be prominently displayed. The display of the poster does not meet the parental notification requirements of P.L. 106-224. All enrolled families must be given a copy of the Parental Notification flyer, copies of which were distributed to all agencies in November 2000.
- CACFP Guidance Memorandums
- CACFP Regional Contact Map
This map provides contact persons by region for the CACFP.
- Listing of Required CACFP Documentation: We know how hard it is to stay organized with all the requirements of the CACFP. When are forms due? How often do you have to update them? When should forms be completed? This checklist will help you keep track of all of the paperwork. You may want to print it out and hang it on a clipboard in your office or use it to add reminders to your calendar, and refer to it throughout the year to make sure youre on track.
- Child and Adult Care Food Program Newsletter--In an effort to communicate with our sponsors, the Community Nutrition Program Team issues a newsletter quarterly, providing the latest information about the Child and Adult Care Food Program in Wisconsin.
- Child Care Recipes: Food for Health and Fun
Provided by USDA's Team Nutrition, this is the first major revision of the Quantity Recipes for Child Care Centers since 1979. This collection contains standardized recipes and kitchen tips that will help centers put together great tasting, nutritious meals that young children will love. The revised recipe collection includes 141 new recipes, 43 information cards which address a variety of food service topics, and a "Working with the Recipes" section which explains the recipes format and how to use them.
- Crivitz Workshop - Snack Ideas
The participants of the Crivitz Caring and Sharing Workshop came up with some great snack ideas! If interested in a particular snack, you may contact the person listed for the recipe.
