Measuring Success in the CACFP Conference Highlights

Keynote Address: Let’s Move CACFP! National Nutrition Initiatives to Promote Wellness among Children and Adults

It’s an exciting year for nutrition education. Learn about the new 2010 Dietary Guidelines for Americans and how to incorporate the recommendations to create nutritious meals and a comprehensive wellness program in your center. Find out what nutrition resources and changes are coming down the pike through the Healthy Hunger Free Kids Act provisions. The newly released USDA MyPlate icon and Let’s Move CACFP! resources will also be discussed.

New CACFP Requirements, Updates and Important Reminders

CACFP consultants will discuss new recordkeeping requirements, Guidance Memorandum updates and CACFP contract reminders. Mandatory annual civil rights training will also be provided as well as information about the newly redesigned CACFP website.

Chad Hodgson, Madison’s Biggest Loser
Chad will talk about the importance of healthy eating, snacking, how to avoid pitfalls when eating out and the caloric intake needed to lose weight. He will also discuss how to incorporate daily exercise and making it a priority while balancing work, family, free time, etc. He will give sample exercises that are great for functional fitness you can do at home and not in a gym.

Review the documentation required for completing a valid claim: Household Size Income Statements and Record, enrollment forms and policies, point-of-service meal counts and medical statements. New agencies and/or new staff are encouraged to attend this session. (If you are from an adult care center it is recommended that you do not attend this session. You should attend the Adult Recordkeeping Requirements session at 2:50 p.m.

Financial Management for All Agencies
