School Breakfast ProgramMore than 8.1 million children across the United States start their day with the School Breakfast Program, a Federal program that provides States with cash assistance for non-profit breakfast programs in schools and residential child care institutions. NOTE: Free Adobe Reader software is available at: Wisconsin School Breakfast ChallengeKohl Breakfast Start Up and Participation Improvement GrantsSenator Herbert Kohl has come through for Wisconsin's children once again by sponsoring legislation for start-up and participation improvement school breakfast grants. The purpose of the grants is to increase the number of children with access to morning nutrition. The grant applications and instructions will be posted to our website by Tuesday, June 9, 2009. Applications are due at DPI on Monday, July 20, 2009. Applications received after that date MAY NOT be considered for funding.
