Community Education Basic Beliefs

Dr. Jack Minzey, Professor Emeritus (retired)
Eastern Michigan University
  1. Education is a process that deals with a much broader area than just K-12.
  2. Education is a life time process.
  3. Education is our most valuable resource.
  4. There are many groups and individuals involved in the education process and
every community has an abundance of untapped educational resources.
  5. We should seek to maximize facilities and resources.
  6. Citizens who are involved in the decision making process tend to
make better decisions about their community.
  7. Improvement of the small community is the best approach to
    improving the larger communities.
  8. Service should be delivered and be accessible to people where
    they live.
  9. Education should be based on the needs of those whom they
    are planned
