Community Education Plan of 100

It is critical that a threshold of at least 100 districts have strong community education programs. To meet this goal by the Year 2010, about 7 new programs need to start each year. It will take the work of both DPI and WCEA to be successful, while mobilizing the skills of the existing community education community.

One hundred new districts would

  • Provide visibility across the state
  • It would ensure assistance and models would be close to most/all schools
  • Increase the depth and strength of the community education association (WCEA).
  • Provide a large pool of technical assistance resources via WCEA and its regional network
  • Increase the number of other local and state organizations have been impacted by and now understand community education, and
  • Ensure that Wisconsin Community Education is a headline in the 21st Century, not an asterisk

The Plan of 100 will be developed in partnership with other state organizations supporting the philosophy of community Education.
