GOAL
A qualified person(s) with training in community education having a
work role based on a community education job description. To have a coordinator
staff position(s) operating under a school board policy that provides a
written job description for the community education coordinator.
Measurement criteria:
- school board policy
- job description
- facilitation role
- assessment, group dynamics, administrative skills (review the mn standards)
Objective: To promote and articulate to the community a knowledge and understanding of community education.
Measurement Criteria:
- Means used to promote community understanding of community education
(e.g. inservice, forums, media savvy, newsletters, etc.)
- Community council role in awareness
- Outside visitations / conferences attendance by community members
Measurement criteria:
- school board policy
- job description
- facilitation role
- assessment, group dynamics, administrative skills (review the mn standards)
Objective: To actively seek community council direction in deterring community education priorities.
Measurement Criteria:
- Written council minutes with good records of previous activities
such as committees and leadership positions
- Council Plan of action (annual update)
- Coordinator role on the council - facilitator not chair
Measurement criteria:

Objective: To provide for evaluation of community education staff, program, council and the process.
Measurement Criteria:
- Organizational evaluation process of coordinator and program (school
board awareness)
- Community council role / planning process
- Written evaluations completed on a regular basis - linked to action
plan

Objective: To participate in professional improvement opportunities at the state and national levels.
Measurement Criteria:
- Number and scope of conferences
- Conducting presentations at local /national conferences
- Able to support WCEA regional structure
- Guidance for other districts
- WCEA/NCEA membership and involvement
