ISES Initial Submission Period Ends 2/20 at 4PM

PLEASE DISTRIBUTE THIS MESSAGE TO ALL DISTRICT STAFF WORKING IN WSLS or ISES

There are three key steps remaining prior to the end of this year's ISES collection:

1. Completion of the ISES Initial Submission Period ~ 2/20 4 PM
2. Statewide Validation ~ 2/20-2/26
3. Review and Revision Period for Districts ~ 2/26-3/13 8 AM

The ISES Initial Submission Period will end on February 20 at 4 PM. All districts should be locked prior to the end of the Initial Submission Period. Immediately following the Initial Submission Period, ISES will close for approximately one week for Statewide Validation purposes. The two week ISES Review and Revision Period for Districts begins immediately following Statewide Validation. The ISES Important Dates has been updated to reflect this schedule.

Remember that ISES data will be used for AYP purposes this year (attendance and graduation rates) and need to be finalized no later than March. Final ISES data will also be used for 2004-05 School Performance Report, 2005-06 3rd Friday September enrollment reporting, and other public reporting purposes. Anticipated uses of ISES data vary by data element and are listed on the Web pages describing each data element. http://dpi.wi.gov/lbstat/eseamap.html#data. Use of data is rapidly expanding, and we would like to help you have data that are as valid, reliable, and useful as possible.

Note that the Progress and Summary reports are currently being updated to reflect data not available in last year's ISES collection and to accommodate other recent changes made in the ISES software. New versions of the Enrollment, Dropout, and High School Completion are expected to be available tomorrow. An Exit Type Report is likely to be added at the same time. Before the Review and Revision Period begins, the ISES Attendance and Retention Reports will also be available for your use. ISES Progress and Summary Reports are primarily designed for use during the Review and Revision period but can also be used at any other time after they become available. As the Initial Submission Period approaches the 2/20 end date, we expect more ISES traffic and processing and helpdesk queues will get longer. If you have many errors or warnings we encourage you to begin now.
