Wisconsin Team Nutrition Training GrantsWisconsin 2009-2011 Team Nutrition Training GrantThe Wisconsin 2009-2011 Team Nutrition Training Grant uses a four-pronged approach to encourage healthy eating and physical activity in youth. The goal of this proposal is to expand and enhance training and education for Wisconsin PreK-12 educators, students, parents, and school nutrition staff. Trainings will incorporate and implement the 2005 Dietary Guidelines for Americans and the contributions school meals and USDA foods make to a healthful diet. The trainings will support nutrition education in the classroom and cafeteria. Wisconsin 2010-2012 Team Nutrition Training GrantThe Wisconsin 2010-2012 Team Nutrition Training Grant uses a multi-strand approach to promote healthy eating and physical activity among school-aged youth. This proposal will weave together collaborative partnerships established in past Team Nutrition projects to promote student wellness, expand and enhance training programs that incorporate the Wisconsin Model Academic Standards for Nutrition and the 2005 Dietary Guidelines for Americans, and promote USDA Foods in meals served under the National School Lunch Program (NSLP) and the School Breakfast Program (SBP). This approach includes three strands that will be "braided together" to help schools meet the HealthierUS School Challenge. Wisconsin 2011-2013 Team Nutrition Training GrantThe Wisconsin 2011-2013 Team Nutrition Training Grant uses a double prong approach to promote healthy eating and physical activity among school-aged youth. This proposal continues to utilize collaborative partnerships established in past Team Nutrition projects to provide training and technical assistance that promote student wellness. These trainings will support nutrition education, school gardens, and farm to school programs as part of local school wellness policies.
