Wisconsin Team Nutrition Training Grant Abstract

Program Description: The Wisconsin 2009-2011 Team Nutrition Project is a one time only discretionary mini-grant for a nutrition education implementation project. The project sites will be selected by June 1, 2010. The project starts July 1, 2010 and ends June 30, 2011. The project uses a multifaceted approach to promote healthy eating and physical activity among pre-school children. This approach includes:

  • Nutrition education and training on the Wisconsin nutrition education standards and nutrition curriculum. Included in the trainings will be fun and interactive nutrition education ideas and effective strategies to engage students and parents.
  • Nutrition education and training, including fun and interactive nutrition education ideas and effective strategies to engage young children.
  • Training on the Role-Modeling Action Guide for Nutrition.
  • Information and training to promote healthy food choices through parental role modeling.

Who was Eligible to Apply: Wisconsin Wisconsin School districts with 4-K and early childhood programs, licensed/certified childcare providers and head start centers.

Amount of Funds Available: $500
