WI mean scale score from the Fall 1996 WSAS Knowledge & Concepts Examinations

*The following cut scores were adjusted by one standard error of measurement (9 to 12 scale score points) on October 20, 1997: 10th grade Mathematics (Basic and Proficient) reduced by 1 SEM, 4th grade Social Studies (Basic and Proficient) and 8th grade Reading (all cuts) raised by 1 SEM. The scale score is the basic score for this assessment. It is used primarily as the basis for deriving the normative scores and identify the proficiency categories. Scale scores are based on the patterns of the students' correct responses (taking into account the item difficulties, discrimination indices, and the chance of guessing on selected response questions).
