2002 LSTA Grant Awards

(January - December, 2002)

arrow Grant award announcements for the 2002 LSTA (Library Services and Technology Act) grant projects were sent out early in 2002 by State Superintendent of Public Instruction Elizabeth Burmaster. LSTA program grants totaling $3.23 million were announced, with projects to place from January through December 2002. The Division for Libraries, Technology, and Community Learning (DLTCL) administers Wisconsin's yearly LSTA allocation through the Institute of Museum and Library Services, a federal agency responsible for strengthening museums and libraries. Among the LSTA projects to be funded in 2002 are projects involving technology, delivery service for library materials, and library services to youth with special needs and youth with disabilities. Projects are taking place in local communities, in public library systems, and on a statewide basis. Hundreds of libraries of all types around the state and the people they serve will benefit from these LSTA funds.
