1. On the road

On Monday, May 5, State Superintendent Elizabeth Burmaster addressed key library leaders participating in the Statewide Library Strategic Visioning Summit organized by the Department of Public Instruction and the Council on Library and Network Development. Summit participants worked on a vision for how libraries will contribute to the continued prosperity of Wisconsin communities, and identified strategies for disseminating plans to the greater library community.

On Tuesday, May 6, State Superintendent Burmaster attended the Foundation for Madison's Public Schools Circle of Friends Luncheon.

On Wednesday, May 7, Burmaster recognized public service workers with a State Employee Recognition Day event at the DPI office.

On Friday, May 9, State Superintendent Burmaster addressed principals graduating from the Wisconsin Urban Schools Leadership Project, a DPI initiative to improve student achievement by enhancing educational leadership in urban schools.
