Burmaster presents awards at state education conventionState Superintendent Elizabeth Burmaster joined members of the Wisconsin associations of School Boards, School District Administrators, and School Business Officials at their combined convention in Milwaukee recently to recognize nine exceptional educators for their outstanding service to Wisconsin students, schools, and communities. “Our strong schools and successful students are the product of quality teaching and decisions made locally by parents, educators, and locally elected school board members—the people who are closest to their schools,” said Burmaster. “I am honored to have this opportunity to thank them for their tremendous commitment to education, and to present these awards. It is a privilege for us to recognize the outstanding achievements of these nine exceptional educators who, in their service to our students, schools, and communities, represent the excellence for which Wisconsin education is known.” The Teacher of the Year program recognizes instructional leadership and the ability to inspire and motivate students.
