EETT Grant applications due April 14

Information about the 2006 Enhancing Education Through Technology (EETT) Competitive Program has been posted on the DPI Web site at http://www.dpi.wi.gov/imt/nclbindex.html. Applications must be postmarked no later than April 14. The primary goal of EETT is to improve student academic achievement through the use of technology in elementary and secondary schools. There are two Wisconsin EETT Competitive Program Goals:

  • All students in the target group will increase their use of technology as a learning tool to improve student academic achievement within a learning environment where Wisconsin's Model Academic Standards for Information & Technology Literacy are aligned with, and embedded within the content area curriculum.
  • All teachers in the target group participating in professional development on education technology will be qualified to use technology as a tool for teaching and learning, and will increase their use of technology as a tool to support student academic achievement.

All applicants and members of an eligible local partnership must have a current certified district information and technology plan, and the proposed project EETT project must directly align with data collected, reviewed, and addressed for the current needs assessment. The project also must focus at least 60 percent of it's activities and budget on professional development toward resolving these needs. All required elements of the application and essential information about the project must be included in the body of the application.

Awards will be announced by May 15. If you have questions about the EETT Competitive Program, contact Donna Steffan at (608) 267-1282 or donna.steffan@dpi.state.wi.us.
