National DECA Honors Westrich

Ann Westrich, education consultant and State DECA Advisor for Wisconsin, was recognized at the fiftieth Annual DECA International Career Development Conference in Dallas recently. Westrich has been with the Department of Public Instruction (DPI) for ten years and serves as an education consultant and State DECA Advisor. Prior to joining DPI, she was a local marketing educator in the Waunakee and Kenosha school systems.

Westrich was recognized for a decade of outstanding service to DECA chapters in Wisconsin, and for her work on the national level. She provides leadership and guidance to more than 12,000 DECA members in 125 Wisconsin schools with marketing, management, and entrepreneurship programs. On the national level, she has served as a series director, public relations project coordinator, has directed Learn and Earn, was a three year member of the competitive events task force, and served two terms as the board chair for DECA’s Central Region Board of Governors.

This year Wisconsin had more than 350 student competitors at The International Career Development Conference in Dallas. Westrich was instrumental in coordinating registration, aiding in the X2 Competitive Edge program, and hosting the annual state meeting for Wisconsin DECA.
