Fulbright Educator Exchange Opportunities

Two Fulbright educator exchange opportunities with August application deadlines are available to Wisconsin educators. The Teachers International Professional Development (TIPD) program is inviting applications for an exchange program with the United Kingdom that allows groups of school administrators and teachers to observe best practices, and for U.S. schools to host UK educators.

The TIPD program creates networks of schools between the UK and the U.S. Schools work in partnership to examine best practices in a number of subject areas. Priority will be given in this application to schools and districts that wish to study math and science education in the UK, or to share best practices in math and science education by hosting a UK school or district.

Applications are valid for three years on the TIPD program, and districts or schools that have previously applied within that time frame will automatically be considered for this program. Schools that have previously applied and wish to update the topic area of their application are encouraged to do so. The applications deadline for this UK exchange is August 15.

The Fulbright Teacher Exchange Program also is seeking district level administrators or school principals to host a Jordanian school principal from November 8-16. Host principals are asked to plan a schedule of activities for the visiting principal, including work-shadowing of instructional and administrative activity in a main host school, district observational opportunities such as PTA and school board meetings, administrative planning meetings, and observing at neighboring schools. Host schools are also asked to plan several cultural outings in the local area. School or district-level hosts must be able to house the administrator with an attentive host family. Families without household pets will receive priority. Host schools will receive a $400 stipend to cover the housing, food, and transportation needs of the visiting administrator and provide educational and cultural opportunities. The application deadline is August 25.
