Upcoming webcasts feature READY Camps and violence preventionTopics for two webcasts in the Wisconsin's safe schools series have been announced. The Ready Camp Initiative will be broadcast May 15 and Violence Prevention—Anti Bullying Programs will be broadcast June 19. READY camps are designed to give student leaders the skills, knowledge, and opportunity to assist their school officials in preventing and responding to crises that might take place in their buildings, on school grounds, on buses, and in their communities. The violence prevention webcast will provide information on research-based, scientifically proven prevention programs, including the Second Step program developed jointly by Harvard University and the Committee for Children in Boston, and the Olweus Anti-Bullying program developed by researchers in Norway. The monthly Safe Schools Webcasts are the result of a partnership among the Department of Pubic Instruction, Office of Justice Assistance, Department of Health and Family Services, Wisconsin Office for Emergency Management, and the Center for School, Youth and Citizen Preparedness. Partners develop webcasts to present the most current information and best practices in school and student safety available at the time. Each broadcast includes web sites and resources that are shared with the online audience. The first webcast, United We Stand, has been viewed by 276 individuals and has drawn comments from as far away as Colorado and Washington, D.C. Topics for webcasts are determined a few months in advance, allowing planners flexibility in selecting new or critical issues to be presented. Past webcasts, available in the archives, include
