Wisconsin DECA students win medalsIf the International DECA Competition is any indication, Wisconsin's business future is bright. Wisconsin DECA students took home more than 75 awards from the International Career Development Conference (ICDC), held April 29 to May 1, 2007, at the Orange Country Convention Center in Orlando, FL. DECA is an association of high school students with career interests in marketing, management and entrepreneurship. Wisconsin students took home six first-place awards this year, compared to last year's five. Fifty-three Wisconsin students were overall finalists with thirty-eight in the top 10 and seventy-eight in the top 20 by event. Of those, 21 medaled in a written test and 20 medaled in a role play. Events included sports and entertainment marketing, accounting applications, business law and ethics, and entrepreneurship promotion. More about Wisconsin DECA: http://www.wideca.org
