How are students performing academically? State test results are provided in graph and table format to help users more quickly see information related to this and other questions.

academic performance For results of the Wisconsin Knowledge and Concepts Examinations, click on "How did students perform on state tests at grades 3-8 and 10? " Wisconsin Alternate Assessment results are included here beginning in 2002-03.

The next screen is a search screen. To view school or district data, first select your school or district. Fill in one of the boxes on the right. Type in a whole name or a part of a school, district, or county name. Next click on the "GO" button. If you have trouble finding your school or district, try clicking on the first letter of the name OR click on the CESA number on the Wisconsin map.

The database should return a list of schools or districts. Each school or district name is a hyperlink that will take you to local test results.

Graph and table options are provided above each graph. Most pages have "View By" options so you can check data about performance and test participation by student group and "Compare To" options so you can see trends over time, find out what is typical districtwide or statewide and how other districts or schools like or near you are doing.

Below the graphs and tables there are links to information to help you use the data. A link to "Questions to consider…" is included at the bottom of most pages. By clicking on "View comparison to annual measurable objectives" you can compare actual achievement levels of students in Reading and Mathematics with Wisconsin's annual measurable objectives in these subjects.

The left side of each page includes a "Change school" link that will take you to the school search screen, a "Hide numbers" link that will remove the table below the graph on the page, and a "Glossary" link. Many pages also include, on the left side, a "Read About the data" link, a "Download data" link, and links to district and school homepages.

Results are also provided in table format (grades 3-8 and 10) and may be downloaded.

IMPORTANT: State test results have distinct limits. No single test or indicator can tell us whether students have learned everything that is important for students to learn. You are encouraged to click on the links to district and school home pages on the upper left for more information about the school or district.
