1997-98 Knowledge and Concepts Examinations Downloads-Grades 4, 8 & 10Download Excel Files Containing Statewide and Local Results[These Excel files contain proficiency data by student group and percentile ranks.]Related Web Sites:
State, district and school proficiency summary reports and percentile ranks are available for downloading at this site. All files are Excel 4.0 files. Proficiency results are provided for all students enrolled and are sorted by gender, race, and other student groups. Percentile ranks are provided for all students tested but are not available by student group. District and school files are large because they contain results for every district and school in Wisconsin. The type of information provided in the state, district and school files is the same. You may wish to download a much smaller 4th grade state-level file (18K) for information about the content and format of the district and school files. Grade 4State-level results (no district- or school-level results) District and school results
Grade 8State-level results (no district- or school-level results) District and school results
Grade 10State-level results (no district- or school-level results) District and school results
NOTE: Some column and row information, such as CESA codes and district numbers, are "hidden" in some files. To unhide, click on the upper left corner of the spreadsheet where the letters and rows intersect. Then click on "Format", "Column", "Unhide". FAY means full academic year. EENOOD includes students with disabilities who live in this district but attend school in another district due to exceptional educational needs. The results included in these Excel files are consistent with paper reports received by districts and schools during June 1998. Demographic data contained in these files are the data reported by school districts and were not audited by the testing contractor or the Department of Public Instruction. In order to reduce the data collection burden, default demographic codes were used when the vast majority of students statewide were in a specific demographic category. For example, districts were only required to report a code for "students with disabilities." All students without a code were automatically coded "nondisabled." No default codes were used for race/ethnicity. Missing race/ethnicity codes were reported as "missing." FOOTNOTES: *To protect student privacy, results are not provided in every row. **In reporting district-level results, "Number Included in %s" may in some cases be different form the "Number Enrolled." Care was taken to avoid direct or indirect disclosure of test results for small groups of students in order to protect student privacy. ***National percentile ranks provide information about achievement of students tested compared to the nationwide sample. These ranks should be interpreted with caution when the % of students tested in a school or district is low compared to other schools or districts.
