Russian educators visit Wisconsin


Madison, February 29, 2008

State Superintendent Elizabeth Burmaster welcomed 10 education leaders from Russia,
who were visiting Wisconsin through the U.S. Library of Congress Open World Program.

Burmaster answered their questions about education and the democratic process in Wisconsin.

The Russian educators are: Olga V. Artemova, Natalya M. Minayeva, Albina M. Pafova, Svetlana N. Prudnikova,
Nadezhda P. Shablikova, Irina S. Shehetkina, Ayna O. Zalimkhanova, Larisa A. Zharkikh, Aleksandr V. Zubarev,
and Olga M. Zubkova. Two interpreters accompanied the group on their visit to Madison, Irina Arndt and
Elena Goldis. Bob Blazich, the coordinator of Open World in Milwaukee, was on hand as well.
