Eligibility for Title I Supplemental Grants
Who is eligible for Title I Supplemental Grants?
Eligible districts have Title I schools that:
1)
have been identified for improvement, or
2)
have missed adequate yearly progress (AYP), or
3)
were otherwise identified as high-need in a Department of Public Instruction (DPI) review of their distance from the 2014 annual measurable objectives (AMO) on the reading and mathematics portions of the Wisconsin Knowledge and Concepts Examinations (WKCE).
The DPI will notify those districts that are eligible for this grant.
Grant Funds
When will my district receive its Title I Supplemental Grant funds?
All Title I Supplemental Grant Applications will be reviewed by a minimum of two DPI staff members using the reviewer rubric found in the grant guidelines. The grant guidelines are available at http://dpi.wi.gov/ssos/pdf/supgrant_inst.pdf.pdf format The DPI will make every effort to award grants to the districts immediately following grant approvals.
How is the amount of money given to my district determined?
A funding formula was used, involving a fixed per-pupil amount plus additional funds for the number of English Language Learner (ELL) students and low-income students. The enrollment numbers used were derived from the year prior to the grant period.

What are examples of fundable strategies a district can include in its application?
The grant guidelines include a summary explanation of each of the Characteristics of Successful Districts, as well as examples of fundable strategies. Title I Supplemental Grant funds are flexible, and may be used for salaries, fringes, instructional materials, professional development, or other purchased services. Non-educational incentives may not be purchased with Title I Supplemental Grant funds. The grant guidelines are located at http://dpi.wi.gov/ssos/pdf/supgrant_inst.pdf.pdf format
