Title I Supplemental Grants Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)


Program Description:

The purpose is to provide public school districts with funds and resources to support Title I schools. These grants are intended to supplement existing district efforts and strengthen district support. The grant application is structured around two goals: 1) addressing the needs of the eligible Title I schools based on adequate yearly progress (AYP) indicators and local data, and 2) providing district support for these schools.

Who is eligible to apply?

Eligible applicants are public school districts with Title I schools that have:

What is the amount of funds available?

The DPI reserves four percent of the amount of funds received by the State of Wisconsin under Title I, Part A.

Applications are due October 9, 2009.

For school year 2009-10, approximately $5.5 million dollars are available under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA).
