Governor's School Health Award
Governor Jim Doyle and Superintendent Burmaster have initiated the Governor's School Health Award to recognize and celebrate schools that support and promote healthy eating; physical activity; alcohol-, tobacco-, and drug-free lifestyles; and parental and community involvement. The goal of this award is to motivate and empower all Wisconsin schools to develop the policies, programs, and the infrastructure needed to create and maintain a healthy school environment.

Does your school…

• promote healthy nutritional choices?
• get students active?
• have policies in place to address staff and student wellness?
• have a committee to address wellness efforts in your school?
• prevent alcohol, tobacco, and drug use?
• actively involve parents?

If you answered YES to all of these questions your school may be in line for one of the Governor's School Health Awards.

Movin' and Munchin' Schools is a program co-sponsored by DPI and WEA Trust. The goal of Movin' and Munchin' Schools is to engage families in physical activity and healthy eating by having students and their families count moving miles based on the amount of physical activity they complete, and the food choices a person makes. Your school can earn money to support physical activity and nutrition education by leading a Movin' and Munchin' program.
