Comprehensive School Counseling Programs

Professional Development Opportunities

The Wisconsin Comprehensive School Counseling Model (WCSCM) provides the framework for the development and implementation of a program for every district that is comprehensive in scope, preventive in design, and developmental in nature. Its flexibility allows districts and schools to incorporate activities appropriate to their unique needs and priorities while preventing and reducing barriers to student success.

While the Department of Public Instruction encourages the adoption of the WCSCM, it does not require trainings nor certify trainees. However, provided here is a list of professional development opportunities which may assist school counselors and other professional educators as they work toward full implementation of the WCSCM.
