Career Education




Comprehensive career education links students to their futures through curriculum and structured activities that help them learn about themselves and the world around them and make meaningful connections between the two. Students identify their interests, talents, and abilities, and then discover potential career pathways where they may find satisfaction by utilizing those interests, talents, and abilities. In the process, students learn research skills that enable them to analyze basic labor market information and employment trends. When school counselors and Career and Technical Education (CTE) teachers work collaboratively to prepare students for postsecondary education and employment, students enjoy higher rates of completion at technical colleges, public universities and private colleges.
