Safe and Drug Free Schools Carryover Instructions and Spreadsheet


Districts are allowed to carry over up to 25% of their prior year's allocation (not including prior year carryover). If any line item changes are greater than 10%, the district must incorporate those changes into their electronic application. The district should contact their consultant to open up their application to make the changes electronically. Once the changes are made, the revised budget is submitted and the consultant notified in order to approve the changes.

Occasionally, due to extenuating circumstances, a district may need to carry over dollars in excess of the 25% allowable. This request must be made in writing, and should detail the circumstances necessitating the excess carryover. Each request will be considered individually.
