Opportunity for Educator Involvement

The Office of Educational Accountability (OEA) is seeking a diverse group of education leaders to serve on the 2025 Wisconsin Accountability Standard Setting Panel. This group will be required to participate in two sessions: a virtual workshop in June and an in-person standard setting session in August. The panel will provide input on performance expectations for the state’s school and district report card accountability system. We invite you to apply for this important panel, which will consist of 30 participants.

Key Dates and Session Details:

June Workshop (Virtual): Tuesday, June 10 from 8:30 am to 1:30 pm (1 day)

August Standard Setting Session (In-Person): Tuesday, August 12 through mid-day Thursday, August 14 (2.5 days)

Location for August Session: Madison, WI

Panelists will receive a $150 daily stipend, reimbursement for meals not provided at the meeting, and mileage reimbursement; overnight accommodations available for those who qualify.

Panelists will be expected to:

  • Review and discuss Performance Level Descriptors (PLDs) for each of the five accountability rating categories;

  • Analyze education performance data;

  • Participate in multiple rounds of judgment and group discussions;

  • Form group consensus on recommendations for PLDs and threshold scores, to be submitted to the State Superintendent for approval;

  • Complete all necessary prep work and actively participate in both sessions;

  • Participants must be available to participate in ALL days.

We are looking for education stakeholders with a broad range of experiences, including, but not limited to:

  • Representatives from WI schools and districts with a variety of overall report card performance ratings;
  • Representatives from a variety of school types;
  • Participants with experience in collaborative decision-making, understanding of education data, and accountability processes.

Applicants will also have the opportunity to express interest in a potential Assessment and Accountability Advisory Council, which would provide a forum for ongoing discussions on state assessment and accountability policies and practices.
