2019 ACP Conference

Education and Business Partnership Conference Embrace the Force of the Future December 10-11, 2019


Business partners and Wisconsin school district staff, especially administrators, counselors, ACP staff, CTE faculty, special education faculty, and CESA coordinators are invited to attend the 2019 Academic and Career Planning/Pathways Wisconsin-sponsored Educator and Business Partnerships Conference.

Academic and Career Planning (ACP), Career Pathways, and quality career and technical education (CTE) begin with robust education and business partnerships. Session topics for both employers and educators will be offered in four strands:

  • Youth in the Workplace
  • Career-Based Learning Experiences 
  • Effective Partnerships 
  • Quality Career Pathways

 Tuesday, December 10, Pre-Conference Sessions

9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.: Comprehensive Local Needs Assessment: Results-Driven Planning for Perkins V
Audience: Perkins Fiscal Agent CTE Coordinators. Encouraged to bring a core district leadership team that could include: data stewards, CTE teachers, school counselors, curriculum directors, and other district staff as needed.

1:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m.: Pathways Wisconsin Planning Workshop for Regions
Audience: For Wisconsin regions intending to develop, implement, and offer State Endorsed Regional Career Pathways in 2020-21. Regional partners include: CESAs (executive directors and ACP coordinators); Regional Economic Development Organizations (Inspire leads); technical colleges (Career Prep and Pathway Coordinators); two- and four-year universities, including private colleges; Workforce Development Boards (business and youth services); chambers of commerce (K12 education liaisons). This workshop is not intended for individual districts.

4:00 p.m.-6:00 p.m.: Evening reception open to all attendees

8:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.

Audience: Employers, secondary and postsecondary educators including counselors, CTE staff, special education teachers and administrators, workforce development, economic development, youth services agencies
