Part I includes requests for investments in:

  • Technology modernization: $12.5 million to improve the DPI’s technology systems, including systems supporting school choice and open enrollment.
  • Cybersecurity: $6.7 million to strengthen the DPI’s cybersecurity infrastructure.
  • Deafblind outreach: Funding to support children who are deafblind and their families.
  • Public libraries: Investments to support Wisconsin’s public library systems.
  • Student opportunities: Additional funding for Special Olympics Wisconsin and Arts for All.

The second and final part of DPI’s budget request will be submitted in November and will include proposed investments in categorical aid programs and other critical supports for Wisconsin K-12 schools.
