Event Description
The Ho-Chunk Nation and Disproportionality Technical Assistance Network invite tribal and non-tribal early childhood programs, tribal education departments, community agencies, and school districts the opportunity to build and sustain partnerships that reflect the diversity of American Indian nations and tribal communities and to collaboratively implement strategies that result in meaningful changes on a local, regional, and statewide level.
The Early Childhood Tribal Symposium and Workgroup event will provide opportunities for facilitators, presenters, and participants to share information, resources, best practices, and model programs.

On day #1 symposium and workgroup participants will hear stories about the Ho-Chunk Nation’s early childhood collaborations within and between communities in their efforts in promoting broader collaboration.
Thursday, May 16, 2019
On day #2 Ms. Jodi Pfarr will return to facilitate the workgroup’s progress on individual or team programs 90-day plans, as well as the workgroup’s plan in developing the First Nations Early Childhood Coalition.
Participant Outcomes
- have an opportunity to collaborate with other stakeholders that include American Indian nations and tribal communities, head start, preschool, early head starts, parents/guardians, community members, etc.
- discuss future planning efforts and programming to promote awareness of early childhood care and education for children and families within our American Indian nations and tribal communities.
- explore cross-sector early childhood collaborations within each tribal nation and community.
