VIP Access - Coaching Competencies E-learning Modules

A mutually trusting and respectful relationship between coach and client is characterized by the reciprocal sharing of knowledge and perspectives and honoring the expertise and experiences of all. This provides supportive conditions for shifting behaviors, mindsets, values, and beliefs.

And…. having a keen ability to communicate effectively with humility, compassion and clarity helps to elevate everyone’s understanding and reduces barriers in order to positively impact student outcomes.

That’s why it is so important to know how you’re showing up as a coach and to have a good understanding of who your client is showing up as too. Meeting a client where they are is an essential starting point and it's our job as coaches to coach them forward. The identities we each possess, the values and beliefs we hold, and the experiences that have shaped us all influence how we might enter into a coaching relationship.

Additionally, engaging in continuous self-improvement through professional learning and feedback is essential for coaches to bring up-to-date strategies and research to ever-changing systems. As coaches, it is important to model the habits of lifelong learning and professional growth. When we see ourselves as always learning, it promotes changes in adult practices centered on equitable outcomes.

In these learning modules, you will have an opportunity to dig deeply into the coaching competencies of Relationship Development, Communication Skills and Reflective Practice. You’ll have a front row seat to a coaching conversation where emotions run high and humanity, compassion, resilience and connection create space where change can still occur.

We continue to add to the asynchronous online learning connected to the Coaching Competencies and we need the voices of coaches across the state to ensure we get it right!

When you follow the link to the CCPP Module Prototype, you will find the following modules:

  • Module 1 - Introduction – here, you will meet the virtual coach, CC. CC orients you to the learning and gives you a technical tour of the learning platform.
  • Module 2 - Relationship Development and Communication Skills – here, you will see one of the stories that represent those two competencies together in one learning module.
  • Module 3 - Reflective Practice - here, you’ll be able to choose between two coaching stories that both exemplify how the skill of reflection can promote high quality coaching partnerships.

In both modules, you get VIP access to your virtual coach, CC who will walk you through a day in the life of a coach.

Remember, these modules are still in draft form, and you’re only viewing a small portion of what will become a series of stories with all Coaching Competencies included. We still have work to do to smooth them out and ultimately incorporate your input into the final product! We’d love to have you join the work and lend us your voice.
