New Statewide Coordination in Professional Development

The Department of Public Instruction (DPI), the Wisconsin Association of School District Administrators (WASDA), the Association of Wisconsin School Administrators (AWSA), and the cooperative educational service agencies (CESAs) are partnering to create learning opportunities for the field that are more coherent, streamlined, and effective.

Leading for Learning includes an annual Summit and a four-part learning series, covering topics such as continuous improvement, equity, and educator development. Events will build on each other to deepen understanding of key concepts and provide specific strategies to inform local continuous improvement efforts.

First Leading for Learning Summit, June 2019

Leading for Learning kicks off with a statewide conference in Madison, June 26-28, 2019. The event braids together the aims and audiences of several statewide professional conferences: AWSA’s Quality Educator Conference, WASDA’s Data Summit, and DPI’s Innovations in Equity.

Leading for Learning Series: Achieving Educational Equity

Building on the annual Summit, the four-part Leading for Learning Series (formerly known as “WOW”) will use a combination of site-based, virtual, and online activities to deliver simultaneous professional development to educator teams at 12 CESA sites statewide.
