This year, DPI is offering two separate tracks of professional development for two different audiences.
Tracks
Track I: Career Readiness. PD that supports overall career readiness for ALL students. Topics may be related, but not limited to: Academic and career planning (ACP), career and technical education (CTE), Xello/Inspire, career-based learning experiences (CBLEs), equity and access.
Track II: Career Pathways. PD that supports exploration and development related to specific career pathways. Topics may be related, but not limited to: Career pathway components (a sequence of courses, work-based learning, dual enrollment, industry-recognized credentials, and CTSOs) and industries (advanced manufacturing, business management, digital technology, healthcare (patient care), and marketing).
Audiences
Level I: Career Readiness Practitioners. These include all individuals, organizations, and intermediaries who play a role in helping young people graduate career ready. School counselors, teachers (regular and special education), school and district administrators, and ACP or CTE coordinators are encouraged to attend. Others, such as employers and out-of-school-time programs, are welcome to attend!
Level II: Career Readiness Intermediaries. These are the people and organizations that work with local K-12 school districts and/or employers to implement a variety of career readiness efforts in Wisconsin. Such intermediaries include, but are not limited to: CESAs, regional economic development organizations, Youth Apprenticeship consortium leaders, career prep coordinators, and transition improvement grant coordinators.
