During 2025 the recently retooled FCS Body of Knowledge (BOK) was presented in Kansas City. Why is this important? Each of us as FCS professionals need our work to be based on the BOK core concepts. When FCS professionals deliver a focused message about content based on core concepts it strengthens the profession. Whether teaching, advising FCCLA members, being a community leaders, and/or advocating for FCS friendly policy decisions the Body of Knowledge is the foundation.
Session 1 we will identify and introduce the core principles - human needs, individual well-being, family resilience, community vitality, and integrative elements - human ecosystem, lifespan progression.
This session will be presented by Dr. Carol Anderson, CFCS and Julie Anderson, CFCS and will include a Q & A segment. Attendance results in 1 Professional Development Unit (PDU).
