Madison business owners, trades workers back career-focused charter school

Speaking in front of the Madison School Board on Monday night, more than 25 individuals urged the board to approve the Forward Career and College Academy as a charter school with the district next month. The school would offer paid internships and work-study programs in the trades and other in-demand careers to local.

A De Pere High School student in Wisconsin has been recognized by Miron Construction during a signing day event as he is set to begin a masonry apprenticeship. The student has worked on projects at Preble High School and Denmark Elementary School.

Program readies students for construction careers
The Elkhorn YouthBuild program at the Career and College Academy in Wisconsin offers high school students hands-on construction experience, working on projects such as a new building at Elkhorn Area Middle School and homes with Habitat for Humanity. Students earn industry-recognized credentials and have received job offers.

Sevastopol High School Earns Equipment Grant

Equipment includes a ESAB Rebel EMP 215ic multi-process welder and a ESAB Savage A50 LUX welding helmet. MWSCO members introduced the company and team, presented the equipment, and hosted a Q&A session with Sevastopol High School representatives, instructors and students.
