For more than 50 years, Earth Day – April 22 – has been a powerful focal point for inspiring and mobilizing individuals and organizations worldwide to demonstrate their commitment to environmental protection and sustainability.
Earth Day has the power to bring about historic advances in climate policy, renewable energy and green jobs. Through the Earth Day Network's program, A Billion Acts of Green, millions have made personal commitments to sustainability, mobilizing the power of people to create change by taking small steps in their homes, schools and businesses that add up to an enormous collective action.
The Earth Day Network website includes resources for teachers to educate their students about Earth Day and information on festivals in the U.S.
