Event Description

During this fourth session of the Leading for Learning Series, Mike Mattos will help school and district teams answer the final critical questions of professional learning communities (PLCs): How do we respond when students do not learn? How do we respond when students have already learned? The session will help teams understand how to design and implement an equitable, multi-tiered system of support and provide coaching support to professional learning community (PLC) teams in order to implement that system. Syllabus:

  • Building shared knowledge of the essential elements of a multi-tiered system of supports
  • Ensuring access to essential grade-level curriculum
  • Scheduling time and designing/leading supplemental interventions
  • Creating a dynamic, problem-solving intervention team and assessing effectiveness

Mike Mattos will join us in WI for the THIRD time! He is an internationally recognized author, presenter, and practitioner who specializes in uniting teachers, administrators, and support staff to transform schools by implementing response to intervention and professional learning communities. We are extremely grateful for Mike's continued support of the learning-centered approach of the Wisconsin Educator Effectiveness System and his continued collaboration.
