Event Description

During this first session of the Leading for Learning Series, Dr. Jakicic will help school and district teams answer the first critical question of professional learning communities (PLCs): What do we expect students to learn? The session will guide teams through the process of determining what standards to focus on in order to ensure a guaranteed and viable curriculum that creates rigorous learning expectations for all students. Syllabus:

  • Understanding the critical importance on essential standards
  • Examining essential standards within the local school context
  • Using strategies and protocols for gaining consensus
  • Unwrapping select school standards

Dr. Jakicic will be back with us in WI! She has wonderful expertise in the power of formative assessments to increase learning for all students. She often provides specific, practical strategies for teams who want to make the best use of limited common planning time, create rigorous, assessments, and use assessment data to effectively provide students with exactly what they need next.
