Council Purpose

The State Superintendent’s Advisory Council on Deaf and Hard of Hearing Issues will meet on Monday, January 13, 2025, to continue discussion and work on issues related to Wisconsin’s Deaf and Hard of Hearing (D/HH) students.

Agenda

  • Welcome and Introductions
  • Review agenda, previous meeting minutes, and action items
  • Department of Public Instruction Special Education Update
  • Reports from the Wisconsin Education Services Program for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing
  • Discussion Items:
    • Educational Interpreter Shortage
    • Annual Report
    • Language Equality and Acquisition for Deaf Kids (LEAD-K)
    • Language Development for Hard of Hearing students who do not use sign language
    • Birth-to-Three
