The Wisconsin Forward Exam is a part of the Wisconsin Student Assessment System required assessments. The 2022 Forward Exam testing window is March 20 - April 28. The Forward Exam is designed to gauge how well students are doing in relation to the Wisconsin Academic Standards. These standards outline what students should know and be able to do to be college and career ready. Accommodations and supports are available for English language learners and students with disabilities. The Forward Exam is administered online at:
- grades 3-8 in English Language Arts (ELA) and mathematics,
- grades 4 and 8 in science and,
- grades 4, 8, and 10 in social studies.
All students in grades 3-8 are administered the Forward Exam with the exception of students with the most significant cognitive disabilities who are administered the The DLM assessment, Wisconsin's Alternate Assessment. The DLM is a part of the Wisconsin Student Assessment System. Instruction for these students who take the DLM is based upon the Wisconsin Essential Elements and aligns with the Wisconsin Academic Standards. More information about these assessments is available on the Forward Exam webpages or the DLM webpages.
