New Record-Keeping Options Starting in 2025-26

Beginning in the 2025-26 school year, state model school districts and independent charter schools will have new options and resources for educator effectiveness (EE) system record-keeping support. State model school districts and independent charter schools may want to use the 2024-25 school year to learn more about the available options and make local transition decisions.

DPI will no longer contract with and provide the
Frontline Education platform

DPI will no longer contract with Frontline Education or another vendor for an educator effectiveness management platform. The Frontline Education platform is available for the 2024-25 school year. Those who currently use the DPI-provided platform may want to use this school year to consider contracting directly with Frontline Education to continue use or learn more about the free DPI-provided forms. Review Record-Keeping Options.

If a district or independent charter is not contracting directly with Frontline for continued services, local administrations and educators should download files for local or personal record-keeping prior to losing access to the platform at the end of the school year.

Platform administrators can download PDF copies of files en masse using the Archived Forms Export tool. Note: You must be logged in to your Frontline account to view the link.

With consideration of the number of years using the platform and the number of staff, districts and independent charters may need to download the PDF copies in batches over time.

It is recommended that all files be downloaded by June 15, 2025.

Record-Keeping Options

  1. School districts and independent charter schools can download freely available forms in Google and Microsoft formats developed by the Department of Public Instruction (DPI). The free DPI forms contain and support all required documentation elements for system compliance, as well as best practices for professional growth conversations. Note: The Google forms may be utilized and managed using Google Classroom.
  2. Explore whether to contract directly with Frontline Education or another platform vendor authorized by the Danielson Group to use the 2022 Danielson Framework for Teaching©. Vendors interested in using the WI Framework for Principal Leadership© must contact DPI for permission.

EE grant funds to support local EE implementation

Starting in the 2025-26 school year, DPI will no longer charge state model districts and independent charters for the contract costs as part of the annual educator effectiveness grant process. Instead, DPI will pass these savings on through the grant. State model districts and independent charter schools may expect to locally retain $25 per educator covered in the EE System based on the 2024-25 EE grant figures.
