There is no impact on the implementation of the Educator Effectiveness (EE) System, its requirements, nor its processes as a result of the recent changes to WI licensing outlined in the state budget. Licensing (PI 34) and EE statutes remain separate.
WI Act 166 requires districts and 2R charters to implement the EE System. In the early implementation of the EE System, DPI was extremely careful to not link an Educator Effectiveness System to state licensure for the validity and integrity of the process, as well as the professional security of educators (to not have licenses revoked based on a poor evaluation).
For licensing information, review the licensing section of the DPI website.
