This exciting video series presents Wisconsin educators, including several Wisconsin Teachers of the Year, sharing their experience and insight about what works in the classroom, especially as it relates to student engagement for equity and learning.

Mental Health with Jill Runde and Barb Van Doorn

DPI School and Mental Health Consultant Monica Wightman speaks with two Wisconsin Teachers of the Year about Mental Health as an area of growing concern and focus in our schools. Jill Runde is a school counselor at Indian Mound Middle School in McFarland, and Barb Van Doorn is a school counselor in the Lake Holcomb School District. Their conversations begin with the topic of mental health for all educators, including Youth Mental Health First Aid. They also discuss community partnerships and offer concrete information to help all educators answer the question, “What Can I Do?”
